How to Lie with Statistics By Darrell Huff, W. W. Norton & Company, 1954. The examples are badly out of date, but this is still an outstanding book.
NEW Damned Lies and Statistics: Untangling Numbers from the Media, Politicians, and Activists by Joel Best, University of California press, 2001. includes sources of bad statistics, methods of mangling numbers, inappropriate comparisons and the critical approach to thinking about statistics.
