Inconsistency

In an inconsistency (also called Ad Hominem Tu Quoque) fallacy it is claimed that x is false because the person(s) who promote x have acted in ways that are inconsistent with x.

Examples:

"If my doctor really thought that smoking was bad for your health he would quit smoking himself."

"How can you ask me to become a vegetarian when you are wearing a leather belt and leather shoes?"
